Ecogenik has installed a tempororary external wall made from its Soundmaster system at Sainsbury's Huntington store at Monks Cross Retail Park in York.

The wall consists of 150 linear metres of Soundmaster panels and is up to 6.6 metres in height at the highest point.

The panels create both an external and in-store customer-facing wall which will reduce the sound from the construction site and keep out the weather. Click on the photograph to enlarge it.

The main contractor is Bowmer & Kirkland and the project involved removing ceiling panels to create a temporary wall in between the existing store and the extension construction site.

At the end of the project, the wall will be completely removed and the store will greatly increase its floor area with a seamless extension.

MD Tony Doherty said "Soundmaster is tough and durable, so the external face can cope with the elements and suppress the noise generated on site. Its clean white face also looks good in-store and tends to go unnoticed, so the store can retain a 'business as usual' feel. This is very important to our supermarket customers."
